Interim Executive Board
On the 1st January 2020, an Interim Executive Board was appointed to support our school.
The Board members are:
David Street - Early Years and Primary Commissioner, Northumberland County Council.
David was a teacher for 20 years at a range of First and Middle School across Newcastle and Northumberland. During this time, he held a range of leadership posts including two headships. Both headships took the schools from satisfactory to good. For the last four years, David has led school improvement across Northumberland. During this time, academic and Ofsted outcomes have risen and the number of schools seen as a vulnerable has fallen from 64 to 26.

Suzanne Connolly - Headteacher, Felton Primary School
Suzanne qualified as a Primary teacher in 1999 with a specialism in Early Years’ Education. Since then, Suzanne has worked in a number of schools in both Northumberland and Gateshead Local Authorities. Suzanne started her career in a First School in Northumberland but has taught across the primary age range from Nursery to Year 6 and worked in both rural church schools and city centre community schools. These have ranged in size from just 16 pupils to 350.  Suzanne has been a headteacher in Northumberland for 12 years, the first seven were as part of a job share and in two successful village schools. She has been ‘solo’ headteacher at her current school since January 2015, where her leadership style was highlighted as strength by Ofsted in their ‘Good’ inspection in March 2018. Suzanne has developed leadership capacity in her own schools through an innovative approach to shared school self-evaluation and school improvement which was also recognised by Ofsted in 2018: ‘Your supportive style and meticulous attention to detail empowers leaders, teachers and teaching assistants. It promotes teamwork and places a strong emphasis on an inclusive approach which allows access to high-quality learning opportunities for all pupils.’

Richard Restall - Headteacher, St Bartholomew's Church of England Primary School
Richard Restall is currently the Headteacher of St. Bartholomew's C of E Primary School, Longbenton. Having taught and led in Good and Outstanding schools throughout the North East of England, Richard has extensive knowledge of primary education, alongside experience of both Middle and all-through schools. Being a member of the Newcastle Diocesan Board of Education, Richard has a good understanding of supporting church schools and, having worked in both church and community schools, knows how creating a distinctive ethos enables children to flourish. Richard is passionate about creating opportunities that develop children's character alongside their academic achievements, in all areas of the curriculum.
